Questions

Is the depth real?: It is estimated from the photo. Paint that stands up catches light on one side and casts shadow on the other, and Artisplay turns that shading into height. Thick impasto comes out strong. A smooth glaze or a flat print comes out subtle, which is honest.
What photo works best?: Straight on, filling the frame, daylight from the side rather than a flash from the front. A phone in good light beats a scanner, because a scanner flattens the shading.
Does it work on prints and posters?: Yes. You get the image on a canvas-shaped model with light relief. It is a good way to show a print in AR or as a video.
Where do my photos go?: To private storage while the scan is made. The finished model lives at its share link. Delete it from your account page whenever you want.
Can I use it for client work?: Yes. Files are yours. Galleries, framers, artists and estate sellers use the video and the AR file to show a piece before shipping it.
What about sculptures?: Not yet. Artisplay is for flat work: paintings, drawings, prints, textiles, tiles. Anything with a front.
